Meet Cosmo
Hi!
I am Cosmo a 13 pound 2 year old Pompoopinhuahua.
Now you may be asking yourself what that is, well it is a Pomeranian, Poodle, Min Pin, and Chihuahua mix.
When I was adopted, mom thought I was part Papillon because that is what everyone thought, but in fall of 2025 we did an Embark DNA Test and it came back to show the results, it was mind blowing! No Papillon to be found. Le, Sigh, I still love my Papillon brethren even if it turns out I am not apart of their pack.
When I was brought home I didn’t start out as a confident traveler at first. I suffered from motion sickness and was prone to vomiting in the car, something that is often common in puppies and younger dogs when learning to travel. I also exhibited some separation related behaviors when Mom would leave me, something that we worked on and still continue to work on as I have grown into my adult body and brain.
Despite having some early motion sickness and anxiety I really began to develop a lot love for exploring my surroundings and the world. With positive reinforcement training I have become a confident dog and have traveled all over the west coast, Las Vegas, Montreal, and now Ensenada.
I hope my adventures can inspire people to rescue other little weirdos like me and that my story can show the value of how patience and investment in proper training can lead to a fruitful and adventurous life for both Human and Dog.
Who we are
Hi!
Welcome to Cosmo Goes Global, a travel blog focusing on dog centered travel and education created by me, a human named Analisa Six.
You may be asking yourself who Cosmo and I are so I am here to share our story with you as we embark on worldly exploration together, just a gal and her best pal, her dog.
I have worked with dogs off and on professionally since 2015. I am a certified dog walker and dog trainer and spent many years helping dogs with behavior issues in Oakland,CA and Joshua Tree, CA. I have been a dog parent since 2009 and grew up with many dogs and cats in my family. I am an animal person and animal activism and advocacy has been a life long passion and interest of mine since I can remember.
I was led into working with dogs when I was at a large turning point in my life that led me into what I called a “second dark night of the soul.” This led me into sobriety, and I truly believe my first year working with dogs is what got me there. I start this blog and write this on the eve of my 10 year sobriety birthday. I know for a fact if it weren’t for the dogs in my life, my recovery journey would look a lot different and honestly would have been a lot harder to stick to.
At the end of 2023 I suffered from one of the largest heartbreaks of my life resulting in my relocation from Yucca Valley, CA to Los Angeles.
I had spent over a decade building a life that I thought I would have for the rest of my years, only for it to fall apart and leave me wondering what in life was worth fighting for.
At the time I was accompanied by my long time canine companion, a senior Boston Terrier by the name of Bam Bam. We had just moved to Hollywood together and he was the only thing keeping me in a routine as I navigated this new life filled with challenge and mystery.
Bam Bam encouraged me to meet people, he absolutely fell in love with Hollywood and thanks to him we ended up making a lot of friends in our new neighborhood.
But unfortunately I knew Bam Bam’s time was running out. He was 11 when we moved and his health was declining. I knew I could not handle being alone without him, so in the summer of 2024 I began scouting local rescues and shelters for who would be my next companion after Bam Bam’s passing.
In September of 2024 I was lucky enough to come across Cosmo’s profile on a Chihuahua centered adoption site and 3 days later he was in the car coming home to Hollywood with Bam Bam and I.
Cosmo was a spunky 6 month old at the time of his adoption and I knew would require a lot of training, training that I was equipped and excited to do. Bam Bam helped me so much with getting Cosmo comfortable in his new environment and we absolutely had a blast the three of us together every day. While bringing a new dog home, especially a young dog, has its challenges, the challenge was one I welcomed as it kept my brain busy and away from thinking of all the hardships I was facing. Having a young pup to focus on also kept me sober. I owe my sobriety to my dogs so so much.
Bam Bam passed away on August 3rd of 2025 at the age of 13 and was an integral part of raising Cosmo and showing him the ways of travel before his passing. Bam Bam was my best friend and touched the lives of everyone he met. We miss him terribly around here. I am so grateful for all he did for me in my life and for how he helped me train Cosmo in our first year together.
My life mission moving forward at this juncture is to provide a fun and enriching life for the animals who come into my orbit. My dogs give me a reason to wake up in the morning and help me remember to have gratitude for the simple pleasures in this Iife.
I hope this blog can expand into something greater that supports education and conversation around how humans and dogs can come together and build worlds that enable us to have reverence for other species and creatures on this planet.
Dogs have been our companions through centuries of war, strife, and hardship and continue to adapt to the chaos of the world we create around them. I believe we as humans deserve to create a world that functions in harmony with the animals we share it with and I think dogs are at the center of teaching us this lesson.
Cosmo Goes Global has been inspired by my love for travel with my dogs and how I want to be apart of helping us bridge the gaps between communicating with our furry companions and seeing them as sentient beings. They are members of our family and deserve to experience the world as richly as we do. I believe this for all animals we share the planet with and hope my experiences with Cosmo and what we learn together can help inspire others to feel empowered in creating a life with their pets that is enriching and rewarding.
